The morning starts with a strange wailing sound from the jail cells. The sound is accompanied by a strange rhythmic thumping sound. Kansas wanders into the back of the jail to discover Shima in the midst of an elaborate ritual in honor of the spirits.
Returning to the front office Kansas spots Reg walking in sportin' fancy new duds and two gold pocket watches. Reg won quite a bit that previous night. Shima finishes up with his morning ritual and wanders out into the marshal's office. The posse step outside and find Lizzy eyeing Screaming Deer. Reg looses several shades of color as he sees who the guide is. Screaming Deer turns cold, hateful eyes on Reg. The posse mount up and head over to Union Station.
The giant of a manager is on duty when the posse arrive. He greets them with a voice so booming that a little plaster and dust fall from the ceiling. It turns out, the manager informs, that the train to Sterling was indeed robbed yesterday. The posse ask how the bandits managed to rob the train. The manager explains that the bandits have a Ghost Rock Powered tank. "After firing a warning shot into the engine," explains the manager in his booming voice, "The cowardly engineers will stop the train. The rest of the bandits will arrive on horseback and systematically rob the entire train including anything of value being shipped as cargo."
The posse arrange to get transportation on the train today and to be dropped off at the site of the previous day's attack. Everyone loads up their horses and get onboard. The manager has arranged a private first class berth for the entire posse. The train departs off into the Colorado prairie.
It's about 2:00 in the afternoon when the train stops at the site of the previous ambush. Screaming Deer spent the entire trip glaring at Reg. Reg spent the entire trip flinching and trying not to look at Screaming Deer. As the posse de-train, Lizzy pulls aside Reg. It turns out that Reg won quite a bit of money from Screaming Deer the previous night.
"How much?" asked Lizzy.
"$500." Reg replies meekly.
"$500!" exclaims Lizzy.
The posse easily find the tracks of the attacking bandits and head west. The posse follow then over rolling hills for the remainder of the day. The posse find a good campsite and prepare for the night. Looking for a warm place to sleep, a rattlesnake wanders towards Kansas's sleeping roll. Lizzy takes it out with a precision aimed round from her sawed off shotgun.
The posse bed down and take turns keeping watch for the night.
