Note to players: Unfortunately my notes for the earlier portions of this campaign are not chronologically ordered. In other words, they do not lend themselves to this sort of a record. I will work on transcribing what I have as time progresses. If you note any discrepancies or if I have missed something, please send me a telegram and I will correct the error. Thanks!
July 10, 1876: There was a bar fight involving Reg and Kansas. The Posse managed to kill off the two banditos who were causing problems. The bodies were then taken downstairs to the cold room by Dagster and Liz (Ryan). Dante follows the eager do-gooders downstairs and tries to kill them once he figures out that they are vampires. Huge firefight with the whole posse attacking each other. Dante dies. Posse takes the vampires back to the Denver Jail. Dan's character slips away in the confusion. The alleged vampires are thrown into the drunk tank while the rest of the posse figures out what to do. Marshall (Kat) writes up her resignation as the Pinkertons arrive. Pinkertons were summoned by the local Sheriff in hopes of unraveling string of gruesome murders, especially the one at Elizabeths.' Two Pinkerton investigators arrived as a team. One is referred to as Agent M. The shorter woman Pinkerton is referred to as Agent S.
Liz (Andrew) steals information from work about seven suspicious locations in Denver. Redwood Imports has been acquiring the property and someone connected to Redwood Imports is doing something at each location. One of the locations is Liz's (Ryan) family's house. She also figures out that the device that Redwood Imports has been working on is not a transportation device. Liz (Andrew) is uncertain about what the device is for.
Liz (Andrew) goes out on a date with Agent S, pays $50 for a dress and $100 for dinner. She gets the cold shoulder from Agent S.
Dagster and Liz (Ryan) go to some of the locations that Liz (Andrew) brought back from Redwood Imports. They get ambushed by Madeline. A brief firefight and Dagster looses his head. Apparently Madeline did not appreciate becoming a vampire and sought revenge on her creator. Madeline rides off leaving a confused Liz (Ryan) behind. Two of the five locations have not yet been touched. One is a bakery the other is an intersection near St. Mark’s Cathedral.
The whole posse rounds itself up and heads off to investigate the bakery. It turns out that the location was just sold. Breaking into the closed bakery, the posse finds that there is a hole dug into the first floor. What looks like a bank vault has been dug into the ground. After a few moments, the posse opens up the door in the floor. A strange lava colored mist flows out of the hole in the floor and into the main room. The mist fills the room to waist height. Kansas tries to open the door but finds that the mist has clogged the door shut. Getting desperate, Kansas breaks out the window and escapes. Agent M and Agent S wait patiently while the room fills with mist. Kansas rides off to the office to pick up dynamite.
The posse that remains behind notice that there is a staircase descending into the ground. The posse leave a note for Kansas and descend into the ground. For about 10 feet the staircase remains hidden within the red fog. Breaking through the posse was treated to a breathtaking view. The staircase was 6 feet wide and drops sharply down for half a mile. One mile below the staircase was a sea of rolling grey fog. Suspended half a mile above the sea was a floating castle. The castle was met by 7 staircases descending from the ceiling of red fog. The posse decide that they want to wait for Kansas to return and go back up the stairs to wait.
Kansas rides into the marshals office, looks at the combination scratched onto the safe, opens up the safe and grabs 4 sticks of dynamite. Dropping the dynamite into his nervous horse's saddlebags Kansas races back to the bakery. On the return trip Kansas notices that his horse has acquired an additional pair of stirrups. Three hang from the saddle on the left side of the horse and one on the right. Arriving at the bakery just in time to see Agent S. smack Agent M. on the back of the head for giving away Pinkerton secrets.
The posse descend the staircase into the floor and down to the underside of Denver.
